I love Perfect Bars but I hate the price.

I’ve been searching for the perfect Perfect Bar recipe, and I think what I found comes pretty darn close (tell me what you think!).

Here’s the recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 + 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 3/4 cup of nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1/2 cup of Cocoa
  • 3 tbsp of coconut oil (melted)

Seriously, that’s all you need to make these homemade perfect bars, and they’re freaking delicious.

Now, here’s what you do with those ingredients.

Instructions

  1. Throw all of the ingredients in a mixer and go to town. (I use a Kitchen Aid.)
  2. Enjoy!

Extra Credit

If you want the mix to come out in bar form, you’re going to have to throw it into a square pan and refrigerate it. Then, use a knife or kung fu to cut into to bar shapes for you to enjoy.

I’m not good at explaining how much this makes, but I’d guess it’s at least the equivalent of 5–6 Perfect Bars. (Again, comment with what you think.) But it’s way cheaper and just as good, if not better, than the real things.

“Better? Are you crazy!?!” Well, yes… especially if you throw in some other goodies into the mix like Mini M&Ms (see picture).

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. You can use a cookie-dough scoop to make balls out of the mix instead of bars. It’s easier and faster, and you can quickly throw them in a ziploc bag to take to work, the DMV, wherever.
